Location: Iran

Bandari (from the Persian word “Bandar,” meaning port) is a folk dance from the Persian Gulf region of Iran. Although it originated in a specific region of Iran, Bandari is very popular throughout the Iranian culture sphere today. It is a happy, celebratory dance, bouncy and loose, that is performed at both formal ceremonies such as weddings and “Khatneh-suran” (circumcisions), and informal parties.
